Why leathercraft and tooling leather? What makes it so special?
I could probably write a whole book about this! So I’ll try to keep it short:
Versatility: You can create beautiful and practical items. From small things like bookmarks, keyfobs, and bracelets to all kinds of cases and bags, anything is possible!
Space-saving hobby: Compared to other crafts like clay or woodwork, leather stamping requires little space and you can do it without any machines. It’s a great way to be creative without taking up much room.
Sustainability: Vegetable tanned leather is a natural material that is tanned with traditional natural tannins and contains no harmful chemicals. Leather from Lederlotta is even traceable back to the source of organic farms!
Still not sure if this is the right course for you?
Well, I’ve brought you a few reviews about working with natural leather and my course (translated from German):
Your relaxed and competent course design is simply SENSATIONAL!

Also, your BEAUTIFUL e-book! It’s so creatively designed! The many pictures, pattern instructions, and and… I AM SPEECHLESS 😉 JUST PERFECT :-)) It’s so much fun because you explain it so clearly. …I don’t ever want to put down “Tooling à la Lederlotta”.

I once received a leather scraps test package from Anna @lederlotta and was really excited about it. Since I had never worked with leather before, I was quite curious… My result were napkin rings and other small decorative pieces. Using simple techniques, like with the help of my seal wax stamp, I quickly created some easy decorative ideas.

Some time ago, I ordered a DIY craft set from the lovely Anna of @lederlotta.
Well, what can I say… I am absolutely thrilled and completely hooked! I want to take this moment to especially thank Anna. For giving me the opportunity to get to know and appreciate this wonderful and elegant material. And for your patience in answering all my questions. THANK YOU.

WHO IS BEHIND IT
WHO IS BEHIND IT?
I’m Anna Lewis, the person behind Lederlotta. I’ve been attending art schools since I was a child, which gave me the chance to explore many different crafts. I loved interior design and have over 15 years of professional experience as an interior designer, including leading workshops and training employees. Lederlotta has existed since 2017, and for over 2 years now, I’ve been self-employed with it.
My journey into leathercraft started in 2010 with a beginners workshop while I lived in Sydney with my australian husband. Tooling leather with a swivel knife was ‘love at first cut’… A way to combine craftsmanship with three-dimensional drawing. Working with leather is, for me, the perfect blend of woodworking and ceramics. It’s not as sturdy and labor-intensive as wood, but also not as soft as clay. It’s simply ideal to work with in small spaces, and the best part is that the creations will enrich your daily life, unlike drawings, which often just hang on the wall or sit on a shelf.
And because I love it so much and believe that many others like you would enjoy it too, I decided to create this online course!
P.S.: My two kids also love it when we make little leather things together!
